Transitioning the Practice to Dr. Mark
Dear Friends,
For 45+ years, it has been one of the great privileges of my life to be your dentist. I’ve watched your children grow up, celebrated your good news, and walked with many of you through health challenges that went well beyond your teeth. That kind of trust isn’t something I take lightly, and it’s not something I’d hand off carelessly either.
That’s why I want to share some news directly, rather than have you hear it secondhand: I have sold the practice to Dr. Mark Nakhla, and I want to introduce him to you myself.
I’m at peace with this change because Dr. Mark isn’t a stranger stepping in. In fact, he’s already been part of this practice for two years, and many of you have likely met him or heard his name already. He shares the same philosophy that has always guided our practice — that real dental care means treating the whole person, not just the teeth in front of us. He believes, as I do, in preventing problems before they start, respecting the body’s own design, and never doing more than a tooth truly needs.
Here’s what’s staying the same:
- Our location at 87 Fenton Street, Suite 201
- The team you’ve come to know these last few years — Dr. Shah, Audrey, Kim, Houda, and Bob are all staying on, and they’re excited for the future of the practice and continuing to serve you
- Our integrative, whole-body approach to your care
- The unhurried, relationship-first way we’ve always practiced
I’ll be staying on for a period of time to support the transition, so this isn’t a goodbye — more of a “see you soon.”
I’ll let Dr. Mark share a few words of his own.
A note from Dr. Mark Nakhla:
I’m honored to be taking on this role, and I cherish the trust you’ve placed in Dr. Eccles. Having been part of this practice for the last two years, I’ve seen firsthand how much care and integrity has gone into building it.
My commitment to you is simple: the same whole-body, holistic and integrative philosophy you’ve come to count on isn’t changing. What you’ll see from me is a continuation of that care, along with the same team, in the same space, with the same values.
There’s nothing you need to do differently. Your next appointment stays exactly as scheduled — just come in as usual, and we’ll take it from there. Thank you for the warm welcome. I look forward to continuing to earn the trust you’ve given Dr. Eccles all these years.
The practice name will now be Integrative Dentistry of Livermore.
With gratitude,
Dr. Ward Eccles
